Homeless But Still Human

This is a series of paintings that I created as a result of an experience I had this past Spring and Summer. I was sitting in rush hour traffic and I noticed this young homeless man, no older than some of the students that I teach, standing on the side of the road with a sign that said, "HOMELESS BUT STILL HUMAN". I decided then that I wanted to do something to raise awareness for the plight of homeless people. Over the course of four months, two days a week I saw this young man in the same spot on my way home from work in the city of Pittsburgh and then one day he wasn't there anymore.
